Be Summer Ready || Graphic Tee & Floral Skirt

Hello Hello,

It’s finally summer!! Okay, it’s technically not summer until the 22nd but the weather is definitely summer ready. And because the weather is summer ready, that makes me summer ready too. I especially love summer because I am a July baby and I appreciate the short-lived hot weather. (I feel like most of the year is cold).

With summer here or just around the corner, I wanted to show a couple of my favorite summer fashion trends.

Two of my favorite summer trends I am wearing for today’s outfit post: graphic tees and floral prints.

I love a unique and cool graphic t-shirt. There’s something about styling a graphic t-shirt with a skirt or a dress that adds a chic element to something that is otherwise casual and simple.

I actually designed this graphic t-shirt and I love the way it turned out! There are more designs to come and I can’t wait to share with them with you. But in the meantime, sign-up here to stay tuned to the launch =)

Here are other women’s graphic t-shirts that I like:

Two main reasons why I like styling graphic tees, especially in the summer, is that they either make subtle statements or are unique and they can be worn with a variety of different summer fashion pieces. Take this graphic t-shirt for example, it says inspire and empower—two words that many people can relate to and two words that I stand for.

This graphic tee could have also been styled with a slip dress, a denim overall, a pair of high-waisted shorts, a pair of fringe-hem jeans (I share a DIY here), or striped skirt…the list goes on.

I also love a unique floral print. Actually I just like floral printed clothing pieces in general. There’s something sweet and fresh about floral.

This floral midi skirt is from Express, but it’s out of stock on their website. I share a few of my favorites here:

I especially like this floral midi skirt in particular because it’s not just floral, it’s also a midi skirt and it’s pleated—three of my favorite things in one. (Make sure to check out my How to Style Midi Skirts for summer video for more inspo!!)

Aside from looking sweet and fresh, floral printed clothing pieces come in all shapes, colors, and sizes. Some floral prints are more abstract, some floral prints are huge, some are small, some are monochrome, some are filled with colors, etc. I am a fan of all of the above. I also think floral can be styled in a lot of different ways and with other prints as well.

The skirt I’m wearing could be styled with a mint colored top to match the mint-colored floral. It could be styled with a vertical striped top, an abstract floral print top, or a white lace top. The tops could also be a one-shoulder top or a cropped top.

I finished the outfit with a pair of black sandal heels (similar here) and a black tassel ring handbag (similar here and here) The black handbag is actually a crossbody, I just decided to carry as a clutch. The heels are great, especially in the summer, because they go well with almost every outfit. Plus, they allow your feet to breathe.

So there you have it. Graphic t-shirts and floral patterns are two of my current favorite summer fashion trends. I like them because they are already things that I would wear and that I like. I don’t think following trends is bad. But I also think just because something is a trend doesn’t mean you have to follow it. There are trends out there that I just don’t wear because it’s not my style. And that’s okay. But if someone else likes a particular trend that I don’t, that’s okay too. We are all different. Our styles will be different. And that’s the beauty of it.

Thank you for reading! Let me know if you have any current favorite summer fashion trends, or do you like the graphic tee trend? I would love to know!

And as always, I wish you the best =)

  1. I love the way the graphic tee looks paired with the skirt, so pretty; the teal embroidery is so different and perfect for spring and summer! Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you’re having a great week so far!
