This is part 3 of my Bridesmaid dress series where I showcase my bridesmaid dresses I’ve worn for weddings and reflect on my younger self. If you missed my part 1 (read here) and/or part 2 (read here). This series has been nostalgic for me, and hearing your feedback has been lovely.
For this third part, I will be reflecting on what it was like entering my 20’s. (Part 1 was a letter to my 13 year-old self, part 2 was what I would tell my 18 year-old self).
This pink mermaid dress I wore for my older sister’s wedding. I’m pretty sure this is the first and the only mermaid dress I have in my closet. It’s also the most different from all my other bridesmaid dresses. It’s still a beautiful dress nonetheless. I will also include a bridesmaid tip & some pink dresses at the end.

As August draws near a close, I can’t help but think about Autumn. I love summer, but I love Fall too (read my Things to love about Autumn post here). Thinking about the seasons changing, and seeing change, is one thing that keeps me inspired. Feeling inspired keeps me motivated.
Someone once asked me where I find inspiration. My answer was something along the lines of “everything.” Which is true and still true today. However, there are days or periods of my life when I don’t feel inspired. I do things just to do things but there’s nothing awe-ing from within, no sense of purpose or joy, no energy. It’s during those moments when I physically push myself to go and find inspiration. I want to share a few of those ways with you today.

First, how is it already August 21st?! It feels like August literally just started yesterday.
Now about ways to unwind after work.
Like most people, I work a normal 8-5 job. Some days are great, some days are okay, but some days are just looooong. Regardless, after work I like to come home and unwind (if I don’t have errands to run).
I’ve found that if I don’t run my errands or do what I need to do immediately after work, then I won’t want to do them after I’ve come home, changed, and am ready for the day to be over. (Can anyone relate?)
I think unwinding helps me because it’s my break. It’s the break I take before I have to write or edit. Though some people don’t need to unwind, I find unwinding helpful. Here are 3 ways to unwind after work: READ MORE
If you missed my Places to visit in New Orleans post, you can read it here. This post is dedicated to places to dine and things to eat in New Orleans. Like I mentioned in my previous post, if you love seafood or enjoy eating seafood, NOLA is definitely worth visiting. But even if you’re not into seafood, it’s still worth visiting. People go there to get cajun food, but even if you’re not into cajun food, there are a lot of non-cajun foods you can try =)
I am not a picky eater and I enjoy trying new foods so I was quite excited to eat. New Orleans has a lot of restaurants both local and chain. It’s not a really big city, but it has a lot of history and culture and I think, as a tourist, that plays a huge part in the kinds of foods you’ll find in NOLA.
Though I was only there for a few days, I thoroughly enjoyed my time and the food I got to try. Here’s my list of places dine and things to eat in New Orleans.
FRENCH MARKET/FRENCH QUARTER
I talked a lot about this area in my last post, read here. So I’m not going to go into depth about it. The French Market/French Quarter area is huge and there are plenty of food vendors you can eat from.

With wedding season here, I want to share with you my previous bridesmaid dresses. I’ve been blessed to have been a part of 6 weddings, and these 6 couples continue to inspire me in some way (directly or indirectly).
But with this bridesmaid dress series, I won’t necessarily be talking about weddings. I’ll definitely include wedding-related ideas, but I want to also share my growth and life overtime. Hence, This series will include 6 posts where I reflect on my younger years. This will be therapeutic for me, and I hope it inspires you too.
This purple/blue-ish dress was my very first bridesmaid dress ever. I was in middle school when my first cousin got married. I’ve had this dress for over 10 years. I’m surprised this dress still fits! (It didn’t come with the crown, that was a something I just added for this shoot). I think I was actually 12 when she got married, but here’s to my 13 year-old self.

Last week was International Women’s Day. A day to celebrate and recognize the movement for women’s rights. I wanted to recognize that day because it’s important, and I could not not include it in a blog post.
I’ve been blessed to have many strong women in my life. Women who inspires me, empowers me, and challenges me. Women who are courageous and bold, women who are compassionate and kind, women who are strong and intellectual, women who are caring and humble…they’ve shown me that strength and courage are not mutually exclusive to kindness and humility.READ MORE
