How to stay Organized

5 Things I use to Stay Organized

Staying organized is important. Everyone has their own definition or what organized looks like, but I do think staying organized help productivity.

I like to stay organized. I find that I am most productive when I know what’s next and where things are. Today I’ll be sharing ways on how to stay organized.

I want to share with you 5 things I do or I use to help me stay organized in my work whether it be my job or my hobbies. These organizational tips also help me remember things—like when my bills are due or when my campaign photo is due. They also help me to know upcoming events and prepare my schedule accordingly.

Everyone has their own tips and tricks, and I hope you will find these helpful! Don’t forget to let me know what are some of your tips to help you stay organized.

Sticky Notes are my best friends. I find them extremely helpful because I think a lot, and sometimes I just need a simple note to jot down and idea or a date. From there, I can stick it on my desk or into my planner. They are convenient and portable and affordable.

I also use sticky notes as bookmarks for my various journals. I use them to connect my different thoughts throughout the journal.

Also, when I’m planning a campaign, organizing my editorial calendar, or writing a blog post, I use sticky notes to help rearrange my ideas into a good order.

Sticky Notes are my best friends. I always have a pack of them in my purse. Always.

I use the Calendar App on my phone to store any events that I will be attending. I don’t use this Calendar app for anything else besides scheduled events.

I add scheduled events into my phone because I get updates about it, and I typically set the alarms for a day before and then an hour to 15 minutes prior to the event.

This helps me A LOT to just remember what I have going on and when. Because I don’t always carry my planner with me, it’s extremely helpful to have scheduled events in my phone.

I use this differently from my planner in that, I only store important events or meetings on there as a reminder.

I love planners. LOVE planners. I grew up using planners in school and that habit stuck with me. I’m no longer in school, but every year I get myself a new planner. I use my planner for everything!

I layout my work hours, add in events, add in blogging time and tasks. I highly recommend getting yourself a planner, whether it be virtual or physical.

You should check out this Printable 2018 Blog Planner. Even if you’re not a blogger, this planner will still help you plan out your business or goals and tasks!

This planner is a complete all-in-one. It has audience analysis, email campaign tracker, Post ideas, collaborations, sponsored content, and the list goes on. It’s quite a comprehensive planner, but it definitely will help you be more organized and productive!

I use journals to brainstorm ideas or write out longer prose. There are some planners that carry a journal element in them, but I prefer to have my own journal for different projects.

I use a journal for my blogging and youtube, I have a journal for creative writing, another journal for morning pages, and others for personal purposes.

I prefer blank-paged journals because that allows me the creative freedom to draw, sketch, write out whatever my plans are. Some people like bullet journals, others prefer lined journals. Whatever you prefer, definitely make usage of journals.

Having a separate journal allows me to see what my big ideas are, what my goals are which then lets me break them down in steps. I also use my journals for brain storming sessions or just brain dumps. This is where I allow my thoughts to flow free so that I can, then, prioritize and organize them accordingly into my planner.

This last one is not so much a thing, but it’s a structure I’ve used that has helped me tremendously. I can get overwhelmed by the amount of things I have to do if I start thinking about the amount of things I have to do. I also have a bad habit of thinking about other tasks before actually completing the task right in front me. If you can relate, definitely give this strategy a go!

How I use this tactic is, I specifically set up a certain amount of time dedicated for a specific task. By doing so, my brain is able to focus just on one thing knowing that I’ve already planned for the future tasks and don’t have to worry them. I’m able to push aside any distractions because I consciously already know that I will work on those things next.

I picture that like a train, I make one stop here knowing I’ll be in the next stops.

When I don’t apply this strategy, my productivity is more like tangled wires—everything is everywhere.

Those are 5 things I use or I do to stay organized and productive! Let me know in the comments what are some of the things you use or do to help you stay organized and productive. I love learning new ideas =)

3 Things to Know About Affiliate Marketing

3 Things I’ve learned from Affiliate marketing

I started my blog to share my fashion tips and outfit inspirations. I didn’t have the intention of turning my hobby into anything more.

Over the years, I’ve incorporated blogging tips, beauty, travel-related content.

This February marks my 3rd year blogging with my very own domain. Recently, I revisited the mission of my blog. After reflecting where I am in my life and how I want to grow and move forward, I knew I wanted to give more value to my readers. I’m excited to rebrand my blog and share this new journey of fashion, beauty, travel, and life with you.

People often ask me, how do you make money blogging? The answer to that question is: READ MORE

Fashion Blogger Feature: Fake-Leather

Hello Hello!

I’ve been receiving questions on how I got started with my fashion blog and how someone can start his/her own fashion blog. Rather than just having these conversations on the side, I wanted to share my thoughts and tips with you. Moving onward, I will be sharing a few of my fashion blogging tips and tricks. With that said, you will not only receive my personal tips, I’ve interviewed some of my favorite fashion bloggers to provide inspiration for you. These bloggers are the ones who have personally inspired me to start and continue my blog. I hope you enjoy this fashion blogger feature series. Thank you.

Today’s fashion blogger feature is Adriana from Fake Leather. I found her blog around the time I first started blogging (few years ago). Her blog post layouts are clean, minimal, and it looks like I’m flipping through a chic magazine. I love both her written content and her style. She has definitely inspired me to try new ways to wear a classic piece.

Without further adieu, here is her interview:

Could you describe your blog & tell us how long you’ve been blogging
My blog’s name is Fake Leather and I’ve been blogging for 6+ years about personal style, lifestyle & beauty. I feel pretty lucky that I started when everything was organic, we blogged because it was a need for us to express and, because there was no sponsored content at that time, we all were honest about our opinions.

Why did you start fashion blogging and how did you get started
I always wanted to study something related to fashion but my mother didn’t allow it (“you can’t make a living of that” she said) so, while I was studying graphic design, I created a blog because I wanted to do something creative in fashion. I started picking up a name that was available and a very simple Blogger template. I used to take my photos on my front door with a tripod and a super basic camera. I was doing it for fun and I actually didn’t care much about the quality.

What has been a challenge for you in maintaining your blog
The main challenge is to be your own boss and stay disciplined. Because you don’t have a person telling you “do this tomorrow, write this post now and publish at least 2 Instagrams per day” you have to be dedicated with your blog and your schedule. This is, of course, affected by mood changes and days where I don’t feel inspired at all.

What keeps you motivated, and how do you find inspiration for your posts
I think I seriously love blogging, from picking up outfits, to taking photos and editing, I truly enjoy the whole process and that’s my main motivation. I want to challenge myself and see if I’m able to create something even better this time, if not, well, there’s always another day. I find inspiration everywhere, from magazines, to movies and window shopping. I love fashion but I want to give it my own touch.

What would you say to someone who wants to start a fashion blog (Or, do you have any advice for anyone who wants to start a fashion blog)
Do it for the right reasons! There’s nothing wrong with putting food on the table by blogging, that’s our main goal, but it shouldn’t be your only reason to open a blog. Have a thing to say, take good photography. At first, you might have to copy bloggers you admire, and that’s ok, you will eventually find a way to create your own original content by growing as both a person and a blogger.
